Interesting paper about VLSI history

Dear Class,

I encourage you to give this paper read it. It’s a bit long but I found it extremely interesting as it recounts the early days of VLSI design. Well worth your time.

A good Linux tutorial

I mentioned during our last session that I would post a link to a good Linux tutorial. I took a look at a few webpages and this is the one I settled on as being informative while at the same time not being excessively long. I encourage you to go through it. Of course if you find another better webpage please add it to the comments to this post.

Perhaps we will see some new technologies sooner rather than later.

Folks, I posted another set of notes. For your midterm, you are only responsible for what was actually covered in class, not everything that appears in the notes!

Assignment #1 due date

Dear Class,

Some students thought assignment #1 is due tomorrow. It is due on the 30th. Please pass this info along to your classmates.

I will be dropping by the lab throughout the week. I stopped by on Friday afternoon but there was only one student there. Next time I hope I will have an opportunity to see more of you in case there are any issues.

The first assignment is very straightforward so I am thinking many of you have no issues with the work anyway.
